Research Sector announces the organization of a Seminar on “Current Challenges and Future Prospects for the Oil Industry,”
on Nov. 1, 2017, at 12:30 pm, at Conference Hall (119) Administration Building, Khaldiya campus

Kuwait Petroleum International (KPI)


In carrying forward the agreement process between Kuwait University (KU) and Kuwait Petroleum International (KPI), the Research Sector announces the organization of a Seminar, entitled “Current Challenges and future Prospects for the Oil Industry,” on Wednesday, November 1, 2017, at 12:30 pm, at the Conference Hall (119), Administrative Building, Khaldiya campus. The seminar, to be held Under the Patronage of Prof. Taher Al-Sahhaf, Vice President for Research, would focus on crude oil, the naturally occurring non-renewable and rich source of energy. Composed of hydrocarbons, this energy source, often called “black gold”, was a widely traded commodity, discovered during the industrial revolution, with its industrial uses first developed in the 19th century. The seminar’s key speaker, Dr. Ahmad AlQattan would dwell through the implications of this energy source, together with vision and strategy for acquiring secured energy supplies at affordable prices, as long term strategy.


Dr. Qattan, Head of Quality Management & Special Studies at KPI, has enormous experience in Corporate Planning, Enterprise Risk Management, International Business Development, Strategic Planning, Market Intelligence, Performance Management, Quality Management and Special Studies. Having an instrumental role in establishing “Gulf Downstream Association,” Dr. Qattan, Advisor to the Chairman, was an active member of “ME Petrotech 2016,” and a speaker in many leading Oil & Gas Conferences in Kuwait and abroad. His credentials include Business and Engineering degrees, and a Doctorate with high scholastic honor from “Grenable Ecole De Management,” France in Business Management, as well as an MBA from Kuwait Maastricht Business School with distinction, and a Bachelor’s from Colorado School of Mines in both Chemical Engineering and Petroleum Economics & Finance.
